Manthey participated in the 2018 ADAC 24-hour Race Nürburgring as an official Porsche customer team, always looking for an individual competitive advantage through the use of technologically superior solutions – true to the proven KW motto “The right suspension for every requirement”.
The Solution
As an official suspension partner, we have developed our KW Solid Piston technology for Manthey and other motorsport customers – a new 4-way adjustable racing damper with a level of performance that continues to set the standard today. With consistently high reliability, this damper has proven to be the benchmark solution for teams and manufacturers in GT3 motorsport.

The Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R (991) “Grello” achieved overall victory in the world’s toughest endurance race – a challenge for man and machine. The KW Competition damper technology already proved its efficiency in this first race. The technology, based on the displacement piston principle, was used in racing for the first time.

Acceleration values of 11.6 seconds from standstill to 300 km/h and a top speed of 412 km/h place the highest demands on chassis development. The solution developed by KW automotive for Rimac is currently the most innovative product in the KW range and consists of a semi-active coilover suspension with adaptive valve control and hydraulic lift system. In addition to the chassis, KW automotive is also responsible for the chassis control and chassis control strategy.
